Child Safety & Protection Event
Friday, November 6 • 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Families with children 6 months - 5 years
Youth & Parent Services
New York Life Insurance Company will host this family-friendly event, which will inform parents and children on how to stay safe in the home, at play, or wherever they happen to be in the community. All children with a parent/guardian will receive a complimentary Identification Card, complete with photograph and fingerprints. Open to all. No registration required.

Sleeping Beauty with Little
People’s Theater
Friday, November 6 • 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
Ages 4 – Grade 6 and up with families

Children from The Little People’s Theater perform a classic production of the fairytale Sleeping Beauty (Or the Famous Rose Taboo), by Barbara Fried and Norman Sachs. The dramatic script has action to captivate children and wit to keep adults laughing as well. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Open to all. Registration required.

Thinking About Adoption?

In recognition of National Adoption Month in November, a certified social worker, experienced in the adoption process, presents important information about adopting a child from the United States or abroad. Open to all. No registration required.

Together Time

We continue the interactive play and sharing encouraged by participants in the Parent/ Child workshop. The focus of this program shifts slightly by presenting resource people who focus on areas of interest for the children. A simple introduction to literature is also a highlight of the program. Each program ends with a “circle time” featuring finger plays and songs.

Let’s Talk About Books: The Fantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl

Discuss the book with us. Then, see the new movie based on the book, which opens in theaters on November 13. Three farmers, each one meaner than the other, try all-out warfare to get rid of the fox and his family. The first 15 to register receive a FREE copy of the book.
