Philip & Erin Stead...

Many of you probably remember A Sick Day for Amos Mcgee, the heartwarming tale of a zookeeper who spends the day at home being sick and receives a few suprise visitors.  Amos Mcgee won the Caldecott Medal in 2011, an annual honor bestowed upon the picture book with the best illustrations.  Believe it or not, we librarians keep such awards in the back of our minds all year long when reading new titles!  It's sorta the same as movie reviewers thinking about Oscar contenders all year, or sportwriters considering MVP awards during the season.  We are always looking for the next big book!

Past winners of the Caldecott, which Philip and Erin Stead can now consider themselves, are always followed closely, as we anticipate their next release.  With that in mind, I thought it was fairly important news that the two have collaborated on another title...

Bear Has a Story Tell introduces us to Bear, who needs the help of his friends to remember the story he wanted to share before he has to hibernate for winter.  You should take a look at it and decide for yourself whether or not the illustrations are "MVP worthy!"
