Newberry Medal Winner...

The Newberry Medal winner for 2012 is Dead End in Norvelt, by Jack Gantos. The Newberry medal, according to the American Library Association, is awarded "to the author of the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children." This translates to "you should read this book, because it is a really well written story..." The book follows 12-year old Jack and his interesting activities during the summer of 1962. This is a particularly good read for boys of a similar age. Click here to place the title on hold!

Two other titles were given the status of being "honor books." They are the following (click on the title to place your hold on them):

Remember, it is great to read books that have received accolades and determine whether or not you agree with the hub-a-loo. However, it is also great to read books that you personally like! Either way, happy reading!
