Believe it or not, books are often made into movies! I know, I know...it sounds absurd! I just watched the trailer for The Invention of Hugo Cabret (the film is called Hugo), and it looks awesome. The advances in cinema special efffects the past decade have allowed for some interesting book/movie adaptaions to be made. We all have our opinions on which adaptations were successful, and which ones failed at properly representing the book. The trailer looks promising...but we'll see!
If you plan on seeing the film and you haven't read the book, I suggest you do. We have copies here at the library. Then you can decide whether or not the movie represents the book fairly! If you're in the library, let the librarians know which adaptations you liked the best!
